Surrounded by a sea of boxes

Tomorrow's the big day! We're moving! YAY! Now, if I can just get the rest of the apartment packed today... I hate moving! It's even harder with a very inquisitive 15 month old. I think I packed the same box 4 or 5 times yesterday. I'd get it totally packed, turn around and Adelae had everything back out of the box. Then she'd say "uh oh." Little stinker! I'm so excited to finally be in our new place. The weather has been so nice and I'm just itching to get outside. I'll probably be offlince for awhile after today. We don't get internet at the new place for a few weeks. We still have our cell phones (for now) so feel free to give us a call.

Here's the link to the pictures of the new place. I added some pictures of the inside of the house. As you can tell, it's a work in progress.

Presenting Mr and Mrs Roddy

My little sister got married this weekend. The ceremony and reception were perfect for John and Maria. They looked so happy and I'm so happy for them. They are a true family now! I wish them a lifetime of love and happiness.

I didnt' get to take very many pictures, but here are the ones I did take. I also stole some from Brittany's MySpace page. Thanks Britt! :D

We found a house!

Things are a changing over here at the Collins household. We found a house! YAY! It's an old farmhouse outside of Payne. It belongs to a very nice coupe that live in Southern Ohio. They don't want to sell it, so they rent it out at an extremely reasonable price. We were lucky enough to stumble upon it at the right time. Thanks Dad! :) Dad actually found it through a friend of his. So, we're moving in 2 weeks! Yeah...two weeks! I'm nervous and excited! I haven't lived in a house since I was a kid. It sure will be a big change. There are lots of things that the house needs and lots of things that I want to do. The owners said we can pretty much treat it as our own. I'm hoping to plant a garden! We'll see though, I'm not very good at that kind of stuff. I'd love to have some fresh tomatoes, cucumbers and all that good stuff. We'll only be about 5 minutes from my dad and Carol and my Aunt Carol. We'll be about 15 minutes from the Greear Clan, which will be really nice. I said I'd never move back to Payne, but what can you do?!

Happy Mother's Day!

This is my second Mother's Day as a mom and I can hardly believe it! I think about how much things have changed since I became a mom. My entire world revolves around that little girl. There have been trials and tribulations and rewards beyone measure. The other day we were playing blocks on the floor. She stopped what she was doing, walked over to me and gave me a big kiss and a hug. That's what I call the perfect Mother's Day gift!

I hope all you Mommy's, Aunts, and Grandma's have wonderful a spectacular Mother's Day :)

Zoo trip!

We got a membership to the zoo for this year. It was such a good deal, we couldn't pass it up. We took Adelae earlier this week. That little girl loves animals! She's not really been up close and personal with any animals other than the cat, so she wasn't sure what to do. The Fort Wayne Children's Zoo has a great petting zoo for the kids and she had a ball with the baby goats. They also have a place where you can feed the ducks. Ducks are Adelae's favorite animal, so she was in heaven!

I've been SCAMMED!

Lots of people have been asking me about my scam story, so here goes!

I posted an ad on Craigslist for child care for the summer. I received an email from a woman claiming to be an artist with a 2 year old daughter. She was coming into Fort Wayne to have her art exhibited and needed care for her 2 year old daughter during the day while she was at the gallery. Knowing nothing about art, I figured that was normal (It's not in case you were wondering. Most artsist aren't there the entire time). She had asked a few questions about me, my family, my background...normal questions for someone that may be caring for your child. I answered them fully believing I was communicating with a real person and a mother. I never once thought that I was being scammed. I didn't give any personal information you can't get off my MySpace page, this blog, or a Google search. Aren't I smart? ;P We exchanged a few more emails. It really did all seem to be on the up and up. Not to mention that I was ecstatic because I was going to be making lots of money while staying home with Adelae. Things have been pretty rough here and I really thought this would be a PERFECT solution. However, I was wrong. I received an email stating that this woman would like to pre-pay to assure her daughter a spot in my daycare. That made me stop right in my tracks. 1st...I told her several times that I didn't have a daycare 2. who lets someone they've never even spoken to on the phone watch their child? She stated that if I filled out this form, her employer would send me a check right away. She wanted my full name, address, gender, and race. Not sure why you would need all those things. I was getting a really really bad feeling about all this. I looked over the emails I had received and realized, I knew nothing about this woman or her family. So, I sent a return email stating that I require an agreement to be signed and returned before I accepted any payment. Needless to say, I received another email asking for my personal information. I replied that I knew this was a scam and I would be contacting the proper authorities.

I worry that there are other moms out there that may fall prey to the same scam. I'm considering contacting our local news media to share my story. I would hate to know that someone else had this happen to them when I could have stopped it. So beware, if it's too good to be true...it probably is.

The womans name was Sandra Wilson and the email was sandluvx@yahoo.com Be on the look out!
